Atlas of Metamorphic Rocks
Metamorphic Rocks
Metamorphic rocks are rocks which have undergone a change in form, shape, or composition. Changes in temperature, pressure and/or chemistry can alter prexisting rocks into metamorphic rocks. The links below are an attempt to show the common types of folicated and non-foliated metamorphic rocks and some of the varieties that are found. It is by no means a complete list of the types and varieties that are found in the world.
