Proposed relationship between cinder cone strength and cone height. As the height of the cinder cone increases, so does the strength of the cone until a certain height is reached. At this point the strength begins to decrease. At height X (approximately 350 - 450 meters) the cone rapidly looses strength due to gravitational instability.
