Lago del Toro

Toro Lake

After arriving in Torres del Paine National Park and eating lunch on the 18th of November, I took the Lago del Toro (Lake of the Bull) half day hike. This hike departed a short distance from the Explora Hotel and ended at the park's visitors center. The trail followed a low ridge of inclined rock layers, on the northwest end of Lago del Toro. The hike started in rain, but by the end had cleared up and was quite pleasant. Lago del Toro is the largest lake in the area, but is not the largest lake in the park. Most of Lago del Toro is outside of the park boundaries, and so Lago Sarmiento is the largest lake in the park.
